چکیده

Abstract Many philosophers are baffled by necessity. Humeans, in particular, deeply disturbed the idea of necessary laws nature. In this paper I offer a systematic yet down to earth explanation necessity and terms invariance. The type invariance employ for purpose generalizes an used meta-logic. main is that properties relations general have certain degrees invariance, some properties/relations stronger degree than others. highly-invariant associated with high governing/describing these properties, explains such both logic science. This non-mysterious has rich ramifications fields, including formality mathematics, apparent conflict between contingency science its laws, difference logical-mathematical, physical, biological laws/principles, abstract character applicability mathematics science, scientific realism, logical-mathematical realism.

Attentional Gain Modulation as a Basis for Translation Invariance

Inferotemporal (IT) neurons in monkeys can respond to visual stimuli in a translation-and scale-invariant manner. In a neural circuit model based on a recently reported form of gain modulation by attention in area V4, the modulated visual responses of model V4 neurons produce object-centered receptive elds further down the visual processing stream, accounting for invariances exhibited by IT neu...

Psychrometric chart as a basis for outdoor thermal analysis

Preparing thermal comfort conditions in outdoor public spaces is one of the considerations of architectural design. If the constructed area does not support comfortable conditions in outdoor spaces, it will cause microclimatic problems for pedestrians and adjacent buildings. Regarding the different thermal comfort conditions in outdoor spaces in comparison with indoor, several indices have b...

The Metaphysical Necessity of Natural Laws

In this paper I will defend the thesis that natural laws are metaphysically necessary, i.e. obtain in every possible world. Metaphysical necessity and possibility are the unrestricted modalities in the semantical interpretation of the modal logic system S5, which I adopt in this paper. I shall defend the following definition of a law of nature: (D 1) L is a natural law if and only if (i) L obta...
